We invite you

Worship God with us in Abbotsford.

We seek to worship God in Spirit and in truth: through the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the faithful administration of the sacraments, by worshipping God in reverence and in obedience to His Word, and by sharing His gospel with others in word and deed.

What we believe

Live, learn and grow in the Reformed faith.

We are a congregation with historical roots in the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century. We believe and live according to its five solas: Scripture alone is our rule for faith and life, and we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, on the ground of Jesus Christ alone, and for the glory of God alone.

  1. 01

    Historical

Our roots are in the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century, and we confess the faith together with true Christians in all times and places.

  2. 02

    Confessional

We hold to the Apostles’, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds and the Three Forms of Unity, faithful summaries of what Scripture teaches.

  3. 03

    Liturgical

Our worship is a dialogue between God and His people, regulated by His Word, with the preaching of the Word at its centre.

Our name

Immanuel means “God with us.”

It is a constant reminder that we walk as Christians in this world, not by ourselves, but with our God, who is our Shepherd. Jesus Christ is the ultimate picture of Immanuel, for as it says in John 1, “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”

Our pastor

Meet Pastor Aaron van der Heiden.

A husband, a father, and our pastor, Aaron loves preaching the Word of God, teaching the foundational truths of Scripture, and seeing hearts and lives changed by the grace and power of God.
